Been a few days since my last post, but I have been pressing on.
Using Photoshop, I've been editing the FAA forms required for the airworthiness inspection. Some are downloaded PDF's, some I scanned as PDF's. Since my printing is lousy, I figured I'd do that to fill in my particular information. Not any different than using a typewriter, but who has one of those any more (do the under 30 types know what one of those is?).
Also used Photoshop to edit a 50 page flight test document mentioned on 1/24/14 that is specific for the Onex.
Sanded and primed the wing tip fiberglass seams.
Added a document holder to the cockpit. I bought an A/S item, but noticed a Staples "poly zip check size envelope with slash pocket", item 718103184441, might work well at only $2.49.
Completed a conditional inspection and filled out the 3 page "Conditional Inspection Form" supplied in the EAA certification kit. Also used Photoshop to put my info in the header so it is ready to use for future inspections.
Filled out my specific information in the airframe, engine and prop logbooks.
Made an appointment to meet with the local DAR tomorrow to go over the certification process and what his requirements are.
Looking closely at the Onex Operators Manual pictures, I noticed the canopy lock/opening labels and brake/flap lever labels. Added those labels to my Onex. Also saw where Sonex installed the latch handle spring (not specified in the plans). My is at the aft end of the assembly, but works the same. I've scanned the Onex Operators Manual and will be using Photoshop to generate a manual specific to N531X. I'll probably comb bind that on 1/2 letter size paper (5-1/2x8-1/2) to carry in the A/C.
Got the "Eligibility Statement Amateur-Build Aircraft", FAA Form 8130-12, notarized at a local bank (no charge... nice).
